Understanding Revenue Metrics
Quick Answer
The Revenue Metrics card in Location Analytics shows one headline revenue figure (actual for existing sites, a Zeustimate forecast for proposed sites), a Grade and % vs AUV comparison, a Revenue Breakdown by sub-revenue type, and — for proposed sites only — a Forecast Confidence section with a distribution graph and a Confident/Less Confident/Not Confident rating.
The Headline Value
Existing Sites (Actual Mode)
Existing sites show a single actual revenue figure with its metric label underneath (defaults to "Revenue"; projects with a custom sales metric show that metric's name instead).
Proposed Sites (Forecast Mode)
Proposed sites show three numbers side by side: a lower bound, the Zeustimate forecast (the large center number), and an upper bound. See Zeustimate Explained for how the forecast itself is modeled.
Grade and AUV Comparison
Next to the gauge, a letter Grade (A-F) and a % vs AUV badge summarize how the site compares to your portfolio:
- % vs AUV — the headline value's percent difference from AUV (Average Unit Volume), defined in the UI as "the average revenue of mature sites in your portfolio." Positive (above AUV) renders in the grade-A color; negative (below AUV) renders in the grade-F color.
- Grade — the same A-F letter grade used across maps, scorecards, and reports. See Visual Overlays for the grade color table.
Revenue Breakdown
Below the gauge, each sub-revenue type your project tracks (for example, different dayparts or product categories, depending on how your project is configured) gets its own row showing:
- The sub-revenue's name and dollar amount
- A percentage-of-total bar
- Its own % vs AUV comparison
- A HIGH badge if the prediction is unusually high compared to historical data
If a project uses a single custom metric instead of a multi-part revenue breakdown, this section is suppressed rather than showing a redundant single row.
Forecast Confidence (Proposed Sites Only)
Existing sites do not show this section — it only appears for proposed sites, below the gauge.
The Confidence Rating
A badge rates the forecast as one of:
| Rating | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Confident | The forecast range is tighter than the project's average range, indicating stronger confidence. |
| Less Confident | The forecast range is wider than the project average, but both bounds stay within the model's min/max limits. |
| Not Confident | The forecast range is wider than the project average AND extends beyond the model's bounds. |
A narrative sentence underneath states the actual forecast range width, the project's average range width, and the model's min/max bounds in plain language, plus a note when downside or upside is meaningfully skewed (60%+ weighted to one side).
The Distribution Graph and Legend
Below the narrative, a distribution graph plots the forecast against the portfolio, with a legend showing:
- Downside — the range from the lower bound up to the forecast, with its dollar width
- Upside — the range from the forecast up to the upper bound, with its dollar width
- Forecast Range — the full lower-to-upper span, with its dollar width
- Average Range — the project's typical range width, when available, for comparison
