Saved Views in the Sites Tab
Quick Answer
The Saved Views card in the Sites tab lets you snapshot the current filters and site-type overlays under a name, then reload that combination later — or share it with your company. The card appears above the filter panel. A Save view button in the tab header creates new views.
When to Use Saved Views
- You have built a filter combination you revisit regularly (e.g. "In Development sites in the Southeast") and want to reload it in one click.
- You want to share a curated map view with teammates without explaining every filter setting.
- You want to switch quickly between two different filter configurations during a planning session.
What a Saved View Captures
A saved view is a named snapshot of:
- All active filter values (revenues, site type, categories, attributes, SOI metrics, mobile-data chip)
- The site-type visual overlay configuration (the color, icon, and sizing choices for each site type, when configured)
The list of locations on the map itself is not part of the view — the view stores the filter and overlay configuration, not a frozen result set. When you reload a view, the platform re-applies the stored configuration against the current project's location data, so newly added sites that match the filters will appear.
Saving a New View
- Open the Sites tab (click the store icon in the chat bar or the Sites tab in the workspace).
- Adjust filters and/or site-type overlays until the map shows what you want to save.
- Click Save view in the tab header.
- The button is disabled until at least one filter is active or a site-type overlay is configured, and until site data has loaded for the project.
- Enter a name for the view.
- Choose visibility: Private (only you can see and load it) or Company (visible and loadable by everyone in your company).
- Click Save view to confirm.
The new view is immediately added to the Saved Views list and auto-loaded so the row shows as active.
The Saved Views Card
The Saved Views card sits above the filter controls in both the embedded and floating filter panel modes. It shows a list of all saved views for the current project that you can access (your own private views plus any company-shared views).
Each row shows the view name and, for company-visible views, a sharing indicator. The currently loaded view is highlighted with a Loaded marker.
Loading and Unloading a View
To load a view: click the eye icon on a row. The stored filters and overlay configuration replace the current map state immediately.
To unload a view: click the eye icon again on the currently-loaded (highlighted) row. The loaded pointer drops — the loaded marker disappears — and Zeus.ai reverts both the filters and the site-type overlays to exactly what they were before the view was loaded. Unloading does reset the map: any filter or overlay changes you made while the view was loaded are discarded unless you saved them first (see Dirty State below).
Dirty State: Saving Changes After Editing
When a view is loaded and you then change a filter or overlay setting, the loaded row enters a dirty state. A visual indicator appears on the row.
From the dirty-state row you have two options:
- Save changes — overwrites the saved view with the current filter and overlay state. The row returns to clean after the save.
- Save as new — forks the current state into a new view (opens the Save view dialog pre-filled with the loaded view's name and visibility so you can adjust them). The original saved view is not changed.
The Save view button in the header is hidden while a view is loaded so you do not accidentally create a duplicate. Use the inline row controls instead.
Managing Your Saved Views
Only the owner (the person who created the view) can rename, share, or delete it. These actions appear in the row overflow menu for views you own. Teammates can load company-shared views but cannot change them.
Rename
- Open the row overflow menu and click Rename.
- Type the new name.
- Click Update name to save.
Change visibility
- Open the row overflow menu and click Share.
- Choose Private or Company.
- Click Save to apply.
Changing visibility from Private to Company makes the view available to all company users in the same project. Switching back to Private hides it from teammates — it stays accessible only to you.
Delete
- Open the row overflow menu and click Delete.
- Confirm in the dialog.
Deleting the currently-loaded view drops the loaded pointer and reverts the map to the same pre-load filter and overlay state as unloading it — the confirmation dialog itself warns "the map will revert to your previous filters and overlays." Deleting a view that is not currently loaded has no effect on the map.
Private vs. Company Views
| Visibility | Who can load it | Who can manage it |
|---|---|---|
| Private | You only | You only |
| Company | Everyone in your company | Owner only |
Company-visible views are useful for standardized views your whole team should use — for example, a "Q3 Pipeline" view that always shows the current Proposed sites filtered to the active development pipeline.
Limitations
- No site data, no Save view button. The Save view CTA is disabled until the project's site data has loaded. If the project has no sites in it at all, the Saved Views card does not mount and saved views cannot be created or loaded for that project.
- Empty filters and overlays cannot be saved. The Save view button stays disabled when no filter is active and no site-type overlay is configured. Default/unconfigured state is not worth capturing.
- Project-scoped. Saved views are tied to a specific project. Switching projects clears the loaded view; each project has its own view catalog.
Use in Report Maps
When you select a saved view as the Sites source for a report map block, the report map inherits several settings from that view:
- Site pins -- only sites matching the view's active filters appear on the map.
- Overlay styles -- the view's site-type color, icon, and sizing configuration is applied.
- Pin popups -- fully inherited from the view's popup settings, with no independent overrides in the report block at all -- including Zeustimate visibility. Whatever revenue, attribute, and Zeustimate settings you configured in the Sites view are what the report shows.
Unsaved edits are reflected automatically. If the selected Sites view is the one currently loaded in your workspace, the report captures the live working state -- including any filter, overlay, or popup changes you have made since the last save -- without requiring a Save first. This lets you preview how a report would look mid-edit. Saving the view locks in that state for subsequent runs.
To change which revenue figures or attributes appear in report map pin popups, update the popup settings in the Sites view itself (not in the report block), then run the report again.
