Reordering and Collapsing Analytics Sections

Quick Answer

Drag analytics sections to reorder them, or collapse/expand sections to focus on what matters. Layout changes (section order, display settings, add/hide sections) are staged as a draft and must be saved explicitly using the Save view button that appears at the bottom of the tab.

Saving and Reverting Layout Changes

When you reorder sections, change display settings, or add/hide/pin sections, your edits are staged locally as a draft. A floating bar appears at the bottom of the tab showing how many unsaved changes you have. The bar has two buttons:

  • Save view -- persists all staged edits in one write. On a starter (default) view, you will be asked to name a new copy before saving.
  • Revert -- discards all staged edits and restores the layout to what it was before you started editing.

Until you click Save view, your changes are in-memory only. Navigating away from the tab, reloading the page, or switching projects discards any unsaved draft. The bar stays visible as long as unsaved edits exist; switching to a different view and returning resurfaces the bar for that view's draft.

Collapse state (expand/collapse individual sections) is not part of the save-bar draft. It persists automatically per project as you interact.

Where to Find These Controls

  1. Select a location on the map
  2. Open Location Analytics (opens automatically)
  3. Look for the drag handle on each section header to reorder
  4. Click a section title (the heading text) to collapse or expand that section

Analytics Sections

Street View is pinned above the reorderable grid (like the Forecasting Model Analytics dashboard's AI Summary/AI Metrics sections) whenever the site has coordinates -- it is not one of the drag-reorderable sections and has no drag handle.

Below it, the Location Analytics panel has 9 drag-reorderable sections:

SectionWhat It Shows
Revenue MetricsActual revenue (existing sites) or Zeustimate forecast (proposed sites), grade, AUV comparison. See Understanding Revenue Metrics.
Scorecard EvaluationHow the site scores against your evaluation criteria
Smart ComparablesSimilar locations for comparison
Forecast DriversSunburst chart showing what drives the forecast (internally "Variable Impact")
DemographicsPopulation, income, age, and other market data
Mobile DataThe site's true trade area from real visitor data
Sites of InterestNearby competitors and cotenants
Closest Road SegmentsNearest road segments and daily traffic counts (internally "Traffic Overview")
Impact AnalyticsRevenue impact on nearby existing sites from a proposed location

The default order is: Revenue Metrics, Scorecard Evaluation, Smart Comparables, Forecast Drivers, Demographics, Mobile Data, Sites of Interest, Closest Road Segments, Impact Analytics -- with Street View pinned above all of them.

Users can also add AI-prompt-backed sections (bound to a saved prompt from your Prompt Library) via "+ Add a section" -- these are opt-in and not part of the default order above.

Drag to Reorder

How to Reorder

  1. Hover over a section header to see the drag handle
  2. Click and hold the drag handle
  3. Drag the section up or down to the desired position
  4. A drop indicator shows where the section will land (above or below)
  5. Release to drop the section in its new position
  6. The section briefly highlights to confirm the move

Keyboard Reordering

If you prefer not to drag, you can also use the up/down arrow buttons on each section header to move sections one position at a time.

On mobile (screens narrower than 768 px): the up/down arrow buttons are not shown inline. Tap the more (⋮) button at the right side of the section header to open a menu, then tap Move up or Move down. The drag handle remains inline for touch-drag reordering.

Auto-Scroll

When dragging near the top or bottom edge of the analytics panel, the panel automatically scrolls to let you reach all positions.

Collapsing Sections

Collapse a Single Section

  1. Click the section title (the h2/h3 heading text) in the section header area
  2. The section content hides, leaving just the header visible
  3. Click the header again to expand it back

Expand All / Collapse All

Use the bulk controls at the top of the Location Analytics tab to quickly collapse or expand all sections at once:

  • Collapse all: Minimizes all sections to just their headers. The button appears in the section toolbar when at least one section is expanded.
  • Expand all: Opens all sections to full view. Appears when at least one section is collapsed.

Downloading a Section as JPEG

Most analytics sections can be saved as a JPEG image directly from the section hover controls.

How to Download

On desktop:

  1. Hover over the section header to make the section controls appear
  2. Click the download icon (a downward arrow) in the control strip
  3. A JPEG file named after the section is saved to your browser's default download location

On mobile (screens narrower than 768 px):

  1. Tap the more (⋮) button at the right side of the section header
  2. Tap "Download as JPEG" in the overflow menu
  3. A JPEG file named after the section is saved to your device's default download location

The download button is not shown on sections that contain live WebGL or interactive map content (Demographics and Street View). All other sections — charts, tables, AI summaries, and metric tiles — support JPEG export.

Where This Works

The download button (and the Display Options gear for sections that have settings) appears in the same control strip as the reorder arrows on desktop. On mobile, all three — download, Display Options, and move up/down — are collapsed into the more (⋮) overflow menu at the right of the section header. The drag handle stays inline for touch-drag reordering.

These controls appear in both:

  • Location Analytics tab
  • Shape Detail View (polygon sections)

Persistence

What Saves Automatically

  • Your collapse/expand state for each section persists automatically per project.
  • Different projects retain independent collapse states.

What Requires "Save view"

The following layout changes are staged as a draft and require an explicit Save view click to persist across sessions:

  • Section order (drag reorder or arrow buttons)
  • Display settings (gear icon per section)
  • Adding, hiding, or pinning sections

Until saved, staged edits exist only in-memory for the current browser session.

Reset to Default

To return to the default layout:

  • The default order is: Revenue Metrics, Scorecard Evaluation, Smart Comparables, Forecast Drivers, Demographics, Mobile Data, Sites of Interest, Closest Road Segments, Impact Analytics (with Street View pinned above)
  • All sections expanded
  • Reorder manually and click Save view, or click Revert to discard edits and return to the last saved state

Tips

Efficient Layouts

  • Put the sections you check most often at the top
  • Collapse sections you rarely need to reduce scrolling
  • Use "Collapse All" then expand just the one you need for focused analysis

Comparing Locations

  • Keep your section order consistent when comparing multiple locations
  • The layout stays the same as you click different markers

Troubleshooting

Section Won't Drag

  • Make sure you're clicking the drag handle (grip icon) in the section header controls, not the section title or content
  • Dragging is only available when more than one section is visible

Order Not Saving

  • Check that the Save view bar appeared and you clicked Save view -- section order is not saved automatically; it must be saved explicitly.
  • Ensure you have a project loaded (the save is per project).
  • If you reloaded the page before saving, the draft is lost; re-apply your changes and save.

Collapse State Reset

  • Collapse state is independent of section order
  • If sections unexpectedly expand, check if the project changed
